Our Story
Our foundation's Founder and CEO, Jeanne DuPont, tells the story of how the Gabbie Scheffer Foundation came to be.
After suffering the devastating loss of my daughter Gabriella "Gabbie" Scheffer on March 8, 2019, due to a fentanyl POISONING, I decided to transform my suffering into a meaningful purpose by establishing a foundation in my daughter's name and in MEMORY of her.

ABOUT GABBIE:

This is a picture of my daughter Gabriella with her uncle Chris on his wedding day, for those of you who are unfamiliar with her. Her family was the most significant aspect of her life, and she loved her friends. Her laughter was so infectious that you could not help but feel it in your bones! She enjoyed attending as many concerts as possible and listening to all genres of music, except country - lol. Gabbie had strong convictions as well! If she believed you were in the right, she would defend you to the bitter end, but if she believed you were in the wrong, she was not afraid to tell you!

She cherished Halloween and celebrated it daily. Skully was the name she gave the skeleton she hung in the back window of her car. She had a tenacious LOVE for MUSIC and took her friends to LIVE CONCERTS as often as she could. Gabbie was a LIGHT BRINGER, a game shaker. The type of person that does not let you play small with your life. Also compassionate, Gabbie spent numerous nights at Mott Hospital with a young boy who had cystic fibrosis, a fatal disease. Together, they would perform practical jokes on the nurses. This is a small glimpse of who my daughter was, and we love and miss her every day!
